Escargot Bourguignon

When I lived in the French chateau (castle) village @ La Loire as a student during 1977 summer, the French landlord’s wife Madamme Bisson wanted to prepare a sumptuous “Last Dinner” for our farewell before we left the village. She asked me to pick any French cuisine we craved to have. I chose the most difficult one : Escargot 🙂 She obliged (happily) and prepared the live snails two weeks in advance.

Now you can buy frozen escargots packaged with nice shell in NTUC supermart (Bishan Junction 8). Just heat it up in the oven.

Escargots move slowly like turtles, so eating escargots helps to slow down ageing process – good news for ladies 🙂
