Lee Kuan Yew discussion with the Catholic Benedictian Monk Laurence Freeman on Meditation:
(The other pink-shirt man is Mr.Ng Kok Song, the former Chief Investment Officer of Singapore GIC, a Catholic who chairs the Association of Christian Meditation)
The recommended meditation is minimum 20 mins to 25 mins. LKY practiced it at night to de-stress during his wife’s 2-year-long illness (strokes) before her death, also advised his son PM Lee to meditate after the tensed 2011 election, in which the oppositions won 40% of votes.
The Chinese Taoists, Buddhists as well as Qigong (静坐) also practise meditation, together with deep breathing (丹田深呼吸) and clearing of mind.
Note: LKY passed away on 23 March 2015 at the age of 91.
